BOSTON, Mass. – Sep 08, 2009 – Rapid7, the leading provider of unified vulnerability management solutions, today announced that security industry veteran, and Archer Technologies founder and CEO, Jon Darbyshire, has joined its Board of Directors.  Darbyshire brings more than 20 years of experience in the security, risk and compliance management space, and will provide immediate counsel to the long-term strategy and growth plans of Rapid7.

Darbyshire founded Archer Technologies in 2000 with a vision to create enterprise-wide IT risk and compliance management solutions that would replace traditional manual processes and disparate point solutions.  Darbyshire is known for his insight into IT innovation, highlighted by his recent presentation at the 2009 INTEROP Conference in Las Vegas where he discussed how recent surges in technology can help businesses cut costs, improve customer relations and increase revenue.  With this expertise, Darbyshire will provide additional insight into the risk and security space, helping to expand Rapid7’s already-successful business strategy.

"I look forward to becoming more involved with Rapid7 at this exciting time for the vulnerability management market," said Darbyshire.  "Today's changing security threats have greatly increased the need for dependable vulnerability management solutions, and Rapid7 has all of the ingredients that indicate continued success – a distinguished management team, a strong product offering, established partnerships and customer adoption."
