Which NeXpose Option is Right for You?
NeXpose Software
NeXpose Vulnerability Management software is the foundation for providing a secure environment. For large enterprises, the NeXpose software solution gives you maximum deployment flexibility, enabling you to install the product on Linux or Windows servers that you may already have in your environment. Through simple licensing, you can install multiple scanning engines to ensure you implement a solution that offers the performance you need.
The software is comprised of the NeXpose Security Console and the NeXpose Scanning Engine. These components can run on two separate machines or on one together.
NeXpose Appliance
The NeXpose Appliance is a standalone rack mount processor that is designed for ease of use. Operating as the heart of a NeXpose installation or as a scan engine providing remote scanning facilities, this self-administering system eliminates the need to install software.
The NeXpose appliance runs a web server, database server, scan engine and reporting system operating together as the NeXpose Security Console. Users of NeXpose connect using a standard web browser over an HTTPS connection.
An appliance may contain only a scan engine and be driven automatically from a master NeXpose console. This allows customers to scan remote segments operating behind firewalls such as branch offices and locations without security personnel or with limited bandwidth capability.
The NeXpose Appliance contains a full version of the NeXpose software including the console and the scan engine and is suitable for use as either the master console or a scan engine for a large environment. The NeXpose Appliance may scan multiple Class B networks simultaneously, depending on the bandwidth limitations. The NeXpose Scan Engine Appliance is suitable for use as a remote scan engine and can scan several Class C networks at once.
NeXpose Managed Services
If your organization has a short supply of security engineers, we also offer a hosted services subscription solution. Run your own scans from our secure hosted environment or have our security consultants provide scanning and interpretation services to alleviate you from the effort.

A simple web browser with no requirement for hardware or software installation provides the interface to the NeXpose Console at our secure data center. If you want to scan internal devices, simply add an appliance to your internal network.
