NeXpose System Requirements
NeXpose is available in a plug-and-play appliance or a software package. You can install the software for the NeXpose Security Console and a NeXpose Scan Engine on the same computer, or you can install the console on one computer and distribute scan engines over remote hosts, depending on your network topology and security needs. Following are system requirements for the software-only version:

- Dedicated server with no IPS/IDS/Virus Scanning
- 2 GHz processor and higher
- 2 GB RAM (32bit), 8 GB RAM (64bit)
- 80 GB + available disk space (10 GB minimum for engines)
- Gigabit Network Interface Card
Recommended Operating Systems
- MS Windows Server 2003 SP2 / Server 2003 R2
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5
- Ubuntu 8.04 LTS
- SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 10
NeXpose is not supported on Windows XP SP2 due to restriction in accessing raw sockets. See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/897656 for more information.
