Rapid7 Adds Web 2.0 and Web Application Security Expert to Executive Team

BOSTON – January 8, 2008 – the leading provider of Unified Vulnerability Management (UVM) solutions for large enterprise deployments and small to medium businesses, announced David Precopio has joined the Rapid7 management team as Vice President of Marketing and Business Development. With more than 20 years experience in networking, web applications and security at companies such as Cisco, Citrix, SSH Communications Security and webMethods, Precopio brings technology and marketing expertise to Rapid7.
Prior to joining Rapid7, Precopio was responsible for Web 2.0 and Web application strategies for webMethods. Precopio helped develop Citrix Secure Gateway, Application security solutions and position Citrix as a leader in the security industry. At SSH Communications Security, Precopio was responsible for helping develop OpenSSH, SSL/TLS, IPSec and IPv6 standards. While at SSH, Precopio was also called on as a security expert to speak in front of the US Dept of Commerce on exporting security technologies.

In his current role at Rapid7, Precopio is responsible for worldwide marketing, as well as building reseller and OEM elationships. Precopio earned a master's degree in international management and marketing from Thunderbird School of Global Management. He also holds a bachelor in political science and marketing from the University of Arizona.
