It's that time of year again—the UNITED Security Summit is just around the corner and I'm excited to be speaking again. Last year's conference combined the intimacy of a smaller, specialized conference with the variety of topics of a larger conference. The sweet spot of size and diversity meant security discussions everywhere: before, during, and after presentations, as well as in the ever-popular “hallway track.”
This year I'll be explaining “Why Doing Application Security Remediation Is Like Building a Rube Goldberg Machine.” The presentation will discuss the complex ins and outs of establishing an application security program, focusing on the priority, product, and management decisions that security teams must make. I will also be participating in the Speaking with Speakers lunch on Day 2, so I can chat with the event attendees and learn from them directly. I hope to see you there.
Of course, the real highlight will be when I unveil the fauxhawk I've been growing to compete with HD Moore's. In addition to our hair-off, he'll be battling it out in a debate session with Dave Kennedy, Josh Corman, and Jon Oberheide… (I think Josh can do a pretty good fauxhawk too.)
