As the Senior Tax Analyst, you'll be involved in all aspects of the domestic and international direct and indirect tax compliance and reporting process at Rapid7. Reporting directly to the Senior Tax Manager, you're an essential part of the company's growing global tax reporting team and will partner closely with internal stakeholders and outside service providers to ensure our processes and procedures are being met. You'll also have the opportunity to dig in and think creatively about how we can build the processes necessary to support domestic and international compliance, reporting, and planning needs for Tax. In this role you will:

  • Prepare quarterly and annual worldwide income tax provision under ASC740

  • Review indirect tax returns (sales/use, value-added tax “VAT”, and goods and services tas “GST”) prepared by outside advisors

  • Compile data and assist with the preparation of transfer pricing calculations and documentation

  • Prepare tax calculations necessary for filing federal and state income tax return filings

  • Coordinate with various outside service providers in regard to data requests for on-going tax engagements

  • Prepare tax general ledger account reconciliations

  • Prepare personal property tax returns 

  • Provide tax audit support

  • Reconcile worldwide cash taxes

  • Track business registrations and other miscellaneous tax reporting requirements and filings

  • Assist with SOX 404 compiling of tax controls support provided for testing by internal and external auditors

  • Research and respond to tax notices and inquiries from tax authorities

  • Assist sales operations with tax inquiries on deals

  • Assist IT with testing related to the taxability of new product offerings

  • Work effectively with other departments within Rapid7 and be able to communicate tax initiatives

  • 4+ years of public accounting or practical corporate tax environment experience

  • Undergraduate degree in taxation, accounting, or related major

  • Solid understanding of ASC 740 and U.S. taxation

  • Knowledge of of domestic and international indirect taxation

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

  • Detail oriented mindset and top-notch work ethic

  • Proven ability to produce highly detailed work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
