Rapid7's Managed vulnerability services allow customers to extend their security capabilities from scan management to vulnerability validation to remediation strategy by taking advantage of our technology solutions, process and human expertise to deliver a consistent vulnerability assessment process. Our customers are a good mix of small/medium business, mid-market, and enterprise, giving us unique insights into security issues that affect organizations of all sizes in all industries. By partnering with our customers above and beyond the tactical aspects of Vulnerability Management or Application Security, our Customer Advisors and Managed Operations Analysts work with our customers to drive progress and risk reduction in their security program through tailored recommendations, and regular touch-points to discuss IT security initiatives and associated best practices.

About the role:

As a member of Rapid7's Managed Services team, the Managed Operations Analyst will investigate and support incidents related to infrastructure, client scan requests, reports and vulnerability findings. Rapid7's Managed Operations Analysts will work with Rapid7 solutions and various other tools to ensure success in deployment, ongoing monitoring, scanning, validation and remediation. Our analysts are fanatical about security and solving complex technical issues.  As an excellent problem solver and critical thinker, our analysts will also be expected to work closely with Rapid7 engineering, support and security researchers to influence product roadmap alignment and innovation.  

What you'll be up to:

  • Working with Rapid7 Customer Advisors in the successful deployment of a customer's security program by providing subject matter expertise

  • Automating workflows and connecting solutions to create a more efficient and robust experience up and down the stack

  • Working in a cloud environment and navigating various services to manage and troubleshoot the infrastructure

  • Working with various stakeholders to generate optimal scan configurations based off the coverage and network requirements in Rapid7's VM solutions

  • Reviewing and generating high-quality accurate and contextual customer deliverables, including consultation of security findings from security scans with the Rapid7 Customer Advisor

  • Review security findings and providing subject matter expertise to Rapid7 Customer Advisor with varied levels of technical understanding (e.g., remediation guidance, vulnerability validation, prioritization)

  • Ensuring that security scanning is functional, properly configured, and coordinating with Rapid7's support team when needed

  • Assisting in technology deployment and client onboarding processes

  • Working with Rapid7 research teams to convey threats and recommendations to Rapid7 Customer Advisors  

  • Research emerging technologies and maintain awareness of current security risks affecting customers today

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in information security or related discipline

  • Strong networking and systems administration background

  • Prior experience in managed or enterprise information security services, or secure development processes

  • Development/Scripting experience (e.g. Python/JS)

  • Working knowledge of Linux CLI

  • Strong understanding of cloud environments and services

  • Proven ability to convey extremely technical concepts to audiences with varying technical prowess
