The Opportunity

In 2015 the Insight Platform began with a simple idea: security teams drown in data. The Role

Technical Product Managers are a key member of the product leadership team, collaborating with a team of like-minded individuals around the globe: customers, marketing, sales, solutions, services, technical support and engineers are your close colleagues. 

Technical Product Managers are responsible for formulation and delivery of technology solutions to security organisations. You will identify customer problems, seek market opportunities, and provide servant leadership to product teams, aligning work with customer needs.

What you should bring

  • Strong technical background: B.S. or higher in computer science, engineering, or related discipline. You are not a coder, but you'll be working with people that know how computers and data work all the way down to the physical level, and you'll be designing and delivering technical solutions for technical customers.

  • Technology fluency: You can explain the value and limitations of our technology to an equally passionate, security savvy audience. You understand how problems and solutions exist at all levels of the tech stack e.g. hardware, firmware, networking, operating systems, applications. You don't have to be a Ghidra user, but you know what it's for and how to learn more. You are fluent in products, technologies, services and brands that enterprises rely on every day.

  • An opinion worth defending: Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must! You will be able to tell a story, for business and technical audiences to influence, persuade and create alignment. You will form, share and refine an opinion on how our platform solves problems for security operations teams.

  • Demonstrate customer value: Become an authority on how endpoint capabilities help customers achieve security outcomes. Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the customers and reliably communicate with both Rapid7 end customers and internal product partners. 

  • Own customer problems: Develop, maintain and demonstrate a strong understanding of security customer needs, the problems that result from unmet needs. 

  • Mind the gap: We collaborate constantly. When things fall through the cracks, we don't assume others will help, we take action. 

  • Be a guide: Help the team deliver capabilities that satisfy customer needs. You'll also act as an internal and external advocate and spokesperson for our understanding of the attacker mindset and how our solutions deliver value.

You will work directly with Engineering, UX and Product Managers of industry leading solutions for vulnerability management (InsightVM), penetration testing (Metasploit), detection and response (InsightIDR), security automation (InsightConnect), application security (InsightAppsec, tCell), cloud security (DivvyCloud) and more.
