Rapid7 is looking for a motivated individual to join our North America pre-sales organization. The Security Sales Engineer will work with the sales team in a pre-sales role to develop and position solutions involving Rapid7's security solutions. They will work as an equal partner with our sales team in matching up customers with Rapid7's security solutions. If you are comfortable going toe-to-toe in a technical discussion with engineers and then shifting gears and having a brass-tacks business conversation with a CIO, this may be the opportunity for you.
Job Responsibilities & Requirements:
  • Delivers presentations and participates in conference call discussions and face-to-face meetings to architectural groups, major lines of business, and executives
  • During the qualifying process, confirms that Rapid7's solutions meet the prospect's requirements and assists sales in technical qualification
  • Articulates and demonstrates Rapid7's solutions, and positions products relative to solving customers' needs
  • In-depth technical knowledge of operating systems, networking, security, and different security solutions
  • Possess presentation-ready knowledge and product expertise on all Rapid7's product groups, with specialized expertise in the security solutions.
  • Collaborates as a team with other security sales engineers, sales, and other teams.
  • Relate to a wide range of technical staff and managers in customer environments
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Desire to continue to expand security knowledge, such as through obtaining Industry or Technical Certifications (i.e. CISSP, GSEC, CEH, Security+)
