The Revenue Accounting and Operations team is responsible for driving Rapid7's quote to cash process and revenue recognition.  We strive to excel in providing accurate and timely financial data to drive and influence key business decisions while providing a seamless customer experience.  As part of the team you will live Rapid7's core values as we work together to benefit our customers and grow our  annualized recurring revenue.   

As a Revenue Accountant, you'll play a critical role on the Revenue Accounting & Operations team by assisting with US GAAP revenue recognition related tasks within Rapid7's quote to cash, monthly close, and quarterly reporting processes. You will be accountable for accurate and timely revenue accounting transactions and reconciliations including posting entries to the general ledger, analyzing data, and collaborating with employees throughout the organization. You will also work with third party external auditors to help ensure compliance and accurate financial reporting.  Additionally, you will play a key role on our team as we continue to be trusted business advisors in regards to revenue accounting operations, reporting, systems, and controls.

  • Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of ASC 606 and revenue recognition policies

  • Prepare monthly close deliverables and quarterly revenue reporting related to revenue recognition, including reconciling and preparing journal entries for various accounts

  • Support quarterly reviews and annual audits performed by external auditors

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to support the revenue accounting process

  • Develop and maintain process and policy documentation 

  • Assist in various initiatives such as system improvements and acquisition accounting

  • Assist with special projects as needed by Management
