The Opportunity

Rapid7 has grown from $100m to over $500m over the last few years and is on its way to $1b+ in annual revenue - this is a chance to be a key part of that growth. This role is critical to drive continued success and expansion for the East region. Reporting directly to the Chief Revenue Officer, this person will be responsible for approximately 2000 target accounts in the East and a sales team currently of 30 Account Executives and growing.

As a proven sales leader, you will be accountable for leading and continuing to build our East team to take the region to $100M+ in revenue.  We're not only looking for an outstanding professional who has enjoyed success building, mentoring and leading teams in dynamic SaaS sales and customer acquisition environments, but also looking for someone looking to steer a diverse team of managers and salespeople across the customer acquisition lifecycle.

Qualifications and Traits

This opportunity calls for a candidate with a track record of proven leadership, team development, and world-class execution at a scale of $30-100M/year or greater, supported by the ability to develop, attract, and retain top talent. This person must be an accomplished builder and mentor of sales teams, an innovative and disruptive thinker, and skilled in leading a diverse and dynamic customer acquisition engine. In keeping with our core values, they should have a history of inspiring teams to accomplish audacious goals, while delivering meaningful sales and customer acquisition results. Specific experiences must include:

  • 10-15+ years of sales and high ARR growth experience, as well 8+ years of sales management and leadership experience, including building and developing management teams and cross-functional organizations.

  • Demonstrated track record of building dynamic, diverse teams across enterprise and large accounts. 

  • Experience building and leading corporate, field and hybrid sales.

  • Channel experience and relationships will be critical

  • Direct SaaS sales background, with recurring subscription revenue models.

  • Experience establishing individual and team budgets, quotas, activity metrics and forecasts to support company business targets.

  • Proven ability to position multiple product and technology solutions to solve business problems. Experience in the Security preferred, or Cloud or IT ecosystem products.

  • Successful history of managing and leading geographically distributed teams.

  • Ability to balance compassion and toughness in coaching others and leading through change.

  • Referenceable experience working collaboratively in matrix environments where cross-functional teamwork is key to the role.
