The Opportunity

Our IT Product Management team is looking for a dynamic team player with the strategic foresight and focus to lead the team into its next phase of growth. This is a highly cross-functional role, partnering with our key business functions to support their priorities with IT solutions and services. As the Director of IT Product & Relationship Management, you will be a driving force within the IT leadership team in defining and executing IT strategy. You will be leading the team by sharing your vision, developing a great team of product leaders, and supporting a culture of innovation, determination, and respect. In this role, you will report directly to the VP, Enterprise Applications, and have coaching and mentoring responsibilities for a team of Product Managers and Business Analysts. This is a pivotal role for a relationship-focused thought leader who wants an opportunity to participate in Rapid7's journey to a $1b+ company.

The Role

The key accountabilities include:

  • Overall comprehensive communication with business partners and stakeholders

  • Governance and prioritization processes for product areas

  • High level IT vision across functional areas 

  • Coordination and communication across teams, departments, and the company

  • Process ownership for communications, work intake, IT governance using agile and lean methodologies

  • Support resolution of scope and other issues impacting the delivery of project and programs

  • Advocate maintaining standards, best practices, and quality of service

  • Partner with and develop strong stakeholder relationships with business leaders; this includes working closely with business units and business owners on a global basis

  • Drive the evaluation and prioritization of initiatives on the product roadmaps and ensure alignment to business strategic objectives and the long-range plan

  • Maintain a positive, results-oriented work environment, building partnerships and modeling teamwork, and communicating to the team in an open, balanced and objective manner

Qualifications and Traits

  • Proven experience in developing strong internal product managers, product owners, and analysts

  • Proven experience in delivering value using agile and lean methodologies

  • Exposure to Salesforce and/or Netsuite highly preferred

  • Detail-oriented yet attuned to the corporate “big picture;” ability to drive strategy as well as dive deep where necessary

  • Aptitude to comprehend, adapt and succeed in diverse business areas

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to communicate and facilitate meetings with executive management

  • Demonstrated in organizing, planning and presenting solutions for large complex efforts

  • Client-focused approach to work with a sense of ownership and responsibility for overall quality of services

  • A continuous learner who stays on top of the latest technology, product management, and industry trends 

  • Ability to manage multiple and varied tasks with enthusiasm and prioritize workload appropriately aligned to business needs

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience; advanced degree in a relevant technical area (Information Systems/Technology Computer Science, Computer Engineering) is a plus
