Rapid7's tCell product is the next-generation Cloud WAF (RASP) which provides runtime security for web applications by gathering application security data via in-app instrumentation, and enforcing adaptive policies to stop a broad spectrum of attack types including zero-days.  The solution is driven by large scale data collection of application behavior that is analyzed for threats and anomalies. Security teams are then able to quickly respond to incidents, as well as continuously improve their security posture by applying protective policies that prevent applications compromise.

We are seeking a hands-on technical leader, who is experienced and knowledgeable across the application stack, and understands the challenges, and keys to success of a highly scalable data-oriented SaaS system. This includes not only fostering a collaborative and creative environment within the team, but also effectively working with various groups within the organization to achieve success.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure scalable development, testing, and deployment process to maintain and improve product reliability, scalability, and performance
  • Provide subject matter expertise on engineering best practices, and scalable architecture
  • Drive team's technical roadmap creation and execution
  • Foster existing talent, and grow team by identifying and successfully recruiting new talent
  • Work as an effective leader across the organization, and collaborate with other leaders to translate the business priorities of the company into a technical agenda
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure a high degree of alignment, ruthless prioritization, timely releases of products and services in support of critical company initiatives, and making sure the team is focused on “innovation that matters”

Requirements:

  • Solid track-record of leadership in building enterprise-class SaaS solutions at scale
  • Understanding of distributed computing and large scale systems involving data analytics
  • Well-versed in modern cloud infrastructure, including Terraform, and Kubernetes
  • Understanding of OOP and Functional Programming
  • Excellent ability to mentor and empower engineers to do their best
  • Very strong communication, both written and verbal
  • Experience in setting up simple yet effective process and automation for organizational efficiency
  • Experience and/or knowledge of Application Security a plus
  • 5+ years of software engineering work experience
  • 5+ years of engineering leadership experience
  • BA/BS in Computer Science (In lieu of degree, 4+ years work experience)
