The Opportunity

In 2015 the Insight Platform began with a simple idea: security teams drown in data. Now, we seek a senior product manager to create alignment, deliver value for customers, and help expand Rapid7's endpoint capabilities. 

The Role

Senior Product Managers are a key member of the product leadership team, collaborating with a team of like-minded individuals around the globe: customers, marketing, sales, solutions, services, technical support and engineers are your close colleagues. 

In this role, you will marry a knack for quickly understanding customer problems with the ability to build effective solutions that make the complex conquerable. This role is an amazing opportunity to become an impactful leader in an exciting, rapidly growing, and global technology company.

This job, as with the other roles on the product team, is an individual contributor role. You will need to be able to influence your teammates, as well as colleagues, stakeholders, and key executives, through your use of data and logic. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.

What you should bring

  • Strong background: Equivalent practical experience or a B.S. in computer science, engineering, or related discipline. You are not a coder, but you'll be working with people that know how computers and data work all the way down to the physical level, and you'll be designing and delivering technical solutions for technical customers.

  • Technology fluency: Perhaps not on day 1, but you will be able to quickly come up to speed and explain the value and limitations of our endpoint technology to an equally passionate, security savvy audience. You understand how problems and solutions exist at all levels of the tech stack e.g. hardware, firmware, networking, operating systems, applications. You don't have to be a Ghidra user, but you know what it's for and how to learn more. You are fluent in products, technologies, services and brands that enterprises rely on every day.

  • Empathy: for customers, users, engineering teams - the list goes on. While your top priority will always be providing customer value, you never forget that it is your responsibility to support the people and teams that are working tirelessly to create that customer value.

  • Relevant experience: 5+ years working on technology-powered products as either a product manager, product designer, engineer, data analyst, data scientist, or user researcher. 

  • An opinion worth defending: Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must! You will be able to tell a story, for business and technical audiences to influence, persuade and create alignment. You have an opinion on endpoint security to share and defend.

  • Demonstrate customer value: Become an authority on how endpoint capabilities help customers achieve security outcomes. Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the customers and reliably communicate with both Rapid7 end customers and internal product partners. 

  • Own customer problems: Develop, maintain and demonstrate a strong understanding of security customer needs, the problems that result from unmet needs. 

  • Mind the gap: We collaborate constantly. When things fall through the cracks, we don't assume others will help, we take action. 

  • Be a guide: Help the team deliver capabilities that satisfy customer needs. You'll also act as an internal and external advocate and spokesperson for our understanding of the attacker mindset and how our solutions deliver value.

You will work directly with Engineering, UX and Product Managers of industry leading solutions for vulnerability management (InsightVM), penetration testing (Metasploit), detection and response (InsightIDR), security automation (InsightConnect), application security (InsightAppsec, tCell), cloud security (InsightCloudSec) and more.
