The Opportunity

As the VP of Global Marketing Operations at Rapid7, you will report directly to the CMO and be responsible for the business process, marketing technology and analytics of the global marketing organization.  

This is a newly created position to lead our marketing technology and data strategy, and drive reporting and analytics, with a critical focus on our demand funnel and pipeline analysis.  These analytics will enable Rapid7 to create and drive a customer-centric, results driven marketing operation. 

You will play a significant role in the development of our annual marketing plans and budget, campaign management operation, as well as drive process improvements and transformation across marketing and with business partners.

You will work closely with the Marketing Leadership, Sales Operations, CS Operations, Business Operations, Enterprise Technology and Finance teams to support global Marketing as well as the cross-functional Global Revenue Team that includes Growth & Field Marketing and Performance Marketing teams. You will partner closely with these teams to provide insights and recommendations to improve pipeline velocity and conversion rates based on data and analytics.

You will oversee a global team of marketing operations, data and research analysts.  You will also work directly with external vendors, agencies and consultants to design, develop and maintain a world-class marketing engine, infrastructure and process.

The Role

  • Lead and manage a team of professionals offering superior supervisory management and career development to the Marketing Operations team. 

  • Working with the senior leadership team, create new processes and accountability models that break down silos and put customers and results at the center.

  • Manage the global marketing operations budget, as well as how we distribute, use and measure the effectiveness of our marketing dollars.   

  • Work directly with Sales Operations, Growth and Field Marketing, Product Management and Customer Success to develop goals based on key metrics such as ARR, CRR and Customer Health to drive prioritization and alignment.

  • Drive the shift to an integrated marketing approach aligning segments and practice goals with our customer-led marketing approach. 

  • Through a campaign management team, you'll drive collaboration and prioritization aligned to business goals across product marketing, growth & field marketing, performance marketing, corporate communications and brand teams. 

  • Deliver the insights and technology to enable our unified Marketing Center of Excellence to create experiences, campaigns, and programs that are coordinated, personalized, relevant and timely – helping to spark more customer advocacy and the pivot to customer needs model.  

  • Drive the modernization and transformation of our marketing technology stack aligned to a larger tech ecosystem to support our go forward GTM plans across customer lifecycle, including design and development and a rolling 12-month plan.   

  • Design and develop global reporting metrics and analysis to measure the impact of our overall Marketing investment; including consolidation and analysis across marketing channel (paid, earned, owned, shared).

  • Drive measurement and continuous improvement for our Lead-to-Revenue process across Marketing and Sales; creating efficiency, improved pipeline performance, lowering cost per acquisition (CPA), and increasing customer lifetime value (LTV).

  • Provide insights and recommendations to the cross functional Global Revenue team (Growth & Field Marketing and Performance Marketing teams) based on data; putting our results into action and adjusting our plans to deliver focused and effective campaigns and improvement initiatives. 

  • Serve as a key member of the GTM team, working closely with Sales Operations, Business Operations, IT and Finance.

  • Serve as a key member of the Marketing Leadership Team (MLT). 

  • Drive the annual planning process for the global marketing team, working with Finance, CMO as well as Marketing budget owners.

Qualifications and Traits

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business or related discipline required; MBA preferred

  • Minimum 15+ years experience in B2B marketing operations, with a depth of experience in enterprise SaaS; recent experience in transformation projects, a plus

  • Experience managing a globally distributed team in a positive and energetic way

  • Demonstrated experience in managing a complex marketing technology stack;  deep understanding of Salesforce and Marketo highly preferred. 

  • Strong understanding of enterprise software buying process, lead management process, as well as demand funnel and pipeline dynamics; experience with a Target Account-based strategy a plus

  • Proven history of development of key metrics to measure success, as well as marketing process improvements 

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced and dynamic environment

  • Strong commitment to build relationships with internal leadership at all levels, along with exceptional interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
