The Opportunity

Rapid7 is looking for a process and detail-oriented Sr. Manager, Marketing Budget Management to join the Marketing Strategy and Operations team.  This role will be critical in increasing the efficiencies of the Marketing organization through leading budget and investment planning, defining critical processes and governance, and ensuring accurate reporting. A key aspect of this role is collaboration and communication, as this role will partner heavily across Finance, Marketing Analytics and other Marketing teams to ensure accurate investment plans that optimize Marketing performance and return on investment.

In this role you will:

  • Partner with Finance and Marketing Analytics to define the budget and provide guidance and direction on investments to Marketing teams

  • Maintain budget and partner with team to regularly update the organization on spend and spend efficacy

  • Build and lead the budget planning process

  • Partner with technology vendor to update systems using best practices to improve user experience and visibility

  • Create enablement to communicate updates and changes to the process and systems

  • Create standard reporting and support ad hoc reporting requests to drive business decisions

In return you will bring:

  • 5-7 years of experience in marketing operations, revenue operations, and/or finance

  • Experience in scalable process design and project management with a passion for continuous improvement

  • Experience managing budgets and strategic planning, preferably at a fast-growing, matrixed tech company

  • Experience defining strategies on return on investment for Marketing teams and driving implementation of associated metrics, datasets, and dashboards

  • Comfort with ambiguity and working in a fast-paced team with changing priorities

  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills to drive impact through influence across multiple functions and levels of an organization

  • Excellent communication skills with experience presenting complex challenges and recommendations to senior leaders

  • Previous experience with Marketing and an understanding of marketing channels (e.g. paid media, events, demand generation) is preferred

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including establishing credibility, trust, and building influential relationships with Marketing and Finance partners

  • Undergraduate degree in Marketing, Business, Finance or related field required; MBA strongly preferred
