The Tax Manager will be involved in all aspects of the domestic and
international direct tax compliance and reporting process. The successful candidate will report to the Tax Director and will be an essential player in building Rapid7's global tax reporting team.  The role offers numerous opportunities to build processes necessary to support domestic and international compliance, reporting, and planning needs.This position requires an ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where attention to detail, analytical skills and strong communication skills are critical.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and/or quarterly and annual worldwide income tax provision under ASC740.
  • Facilitate and manage the preparation and review of company federal, state and international tax returns and ensure the accurate, timely filing of all tax forms with our external tax advisors.
  • Identify and document uncertain tax positions
  • Support the Tax Director with transfer pricing calculations and documentation to support intra-group transactions.
  • Coordinate with various outside service providers to provide support for on-going tax engagements.
  • Collaborate with external consultants to maximize research and development for tax credits in various jurisdictions
  • Prepare and/or review general ledger tax account reconciliations.
  • Manage and provide support on all federal, state, local and foreign income tax audits.
  • Assist with providing support to external auditors
  • Manage tax related internal controls documentation
  • Research and respond to tax notices and inquiries from tax authorities.
  • Partner with other departments within Rapid7 and be able to communicate tax initiatives and requests.
  • Assist with the analyses of tax impacts of new tax regulations
  • Undertake special projects, including tax due diligence relating to potential acquisitions and internal reorganizations
  • Assist with other tax department projects as determined by management.
Essential Qualifications “What You'll Need”:
  • 7 years of related experience working in a global organization
  • Bachelor's in accounting or related field; CPA and master's degree preferred but not required
  • Experience with OneSource Tax Provision,
  • Familiarity with Avalara and NetSuite a plus
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong corporate tax knowledge as well as US GAAP
  • Knowledge of global tax code, compliance, and procedures
  • Experience with the interpretation of foreign tax laws and communication with global tax professionals
  • Must possess a high degree of analytical ability to deal with complex technical tax, legal, operating and accounting issues
  • Strong analytical, and research skills and project management skills
  • Ability to collaborate in a global, cross-functional team environment
