The Director of Sales Engineering, EMEA will lead a strong and growing team of Solution Engineers in the EMEA region, working closely with the sales team in a pre-sales role to develop and position solutions involving Rapid7's security portfolio in a rapidly growing market. This leader will work as an equal partner with our EMEA sales team in our go-to-market strategy, including working with our channel and distribution partners, developing leaders on the team, and positioning Rapid7's product and services portfolio to meet growing customer needs in the region. Role Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead a geographically, culturally, and language-diverse team of Solution Engineers across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Develop careers and leaders across the team using growth development plans, coaching, and mentorship.

  • Present business outcomes based on Rapid7 solutions to C-level executives based on their technical and business requirements.

  • Partner with executives, sales, marketing, and products teams on go-to-market strategy for the region. Develop and execute country-level revenue acquisition and retention goals. 

  • Present to and interact with deep technical and security professionals to answer questions, competitively differentiate Rapid7 solutions, and overcome objections.

  • Be seen as a thought leader in security by developing and presenting content at regional conferences and other industry events.

Role Requirements:

  • 10+ years enterprise security solution and networking experience.

  • 5+ years hands-on experience with cloud security, network security, incident detection and response, or application security required.

  • 5+ years experience leading and developing pre-sales functions designed to work closely with sales organisations.

  • Proven experience in working with Distributors and Resellers to enable them to sell technical solutions. 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in the language of the the region in which you are applying

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to collect and research data; design workflows and procedures; identify data relationships and dependencies; synthesise complex or diverse information; use intuition and experience to complement data. 

  • Proven ability to adapt to changes in the work environment; manage competing demands; change approach or method to best fit the situation; be able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events. 

  • Prioritise and plan work activities across a broad team; use time efficiently; plan for additional resources; set goals and objectives; develop realistic action plans 

  • Education: Bachelor's degree and/or 10 years of related work experience.
