Rapid7's legal practice is looking for a Legal Counsel who will focus on the commercial side including drafting, negotiations and management of existing contractual relationships and will work on real projects that will help us grow and scale.

About the Team: 

The Legal Team at Rapid7 is in charge of contract practices, privacy and data protection, intellectual property, export law, corporate governance, litigation, international legal issues, employment laws, regulatory matters and compliance.


 

About the Role: 

The Legal Counsel will work closely with internal stakeholders (Go-To Customer) and all of our external stakeholders which are our customers and partners. The legal counsel will be involved in working with sales, the partner teams, direct sales, renewals, and the procurement side. They will be working on software license agreements, non-disclosure agreements, services agreements, statements of work, contract questions, etc.

In this role you will: 

  • Support a large organization's commercial goals with day to day partnership

  • Manage the various legal relationships that exist primarily with the company's customers, partners and vendors.

  • Translate complex legal requirements and advice into plain English, day-to-day practical guidance for non-lawyer business stakeholders

  • Negotiate and manage the relationship lifecycle of large technology partnerships

  • Plenty of additional opportunities to identify, lead, and collaborate on related projects

The skills you will bring include: 

  • Admission to and in good standing with the Massachusetts bar (or equivalent with in house waiver/registration)

  • 3-5 years of experience with commercial negotiations, preferably in the technology space.

  • A strong work ethic balanced with a healthy sense of humor.
