Description

SuSe Linux versions 6.3 and 6.4 (previous versions may also be vulnerable) installs Apache web server with an insecure configuration. The configuration file contains the entry:

Alias /cgi-bin-sdb/ /usr/local/httpd/cgi-bin/

This allows the files in /cgi-bin/ to be accessed via URLs of the format http://TARGET/cgi-bin-sdb/. However, because the 'Alias' tag was used instead of 'ScriptAlias', the source code of any script in /cgi-bin can be downloaded.

Solution(s)

  • http-apache-0006

With Rapid7 live dashboards, I have a clear view of all the assets on my network, which ones can be exploited, and what I need to do in order to reduce the risk in my environment in real-time. No other tool gives us that kind of value and insight.
