Description

Microsoft IIS is prone to denial of service attacks by remote attackers.

Certain filenames will not be filtered if passed as ASP script parameters. If a HTTP request is made and the script parameter('script=') contains a device name, it is possible to exhaust the resources of the ASP processor.

The end result of exploiting this vulnerability is that the server will crash and a denial of services will occur. The affected services must be restarted to regain normal functionality.

Solution(s)

With Rapid7 live dashboards, I have a clear view of all the assets on my network, which ones can be exploited, and what I need to do in order to reduce the risk in my environment in real-time. No other tool gives us that kind of value and insight.
