Description

Microsoft SQL Server 2000 listens on UDP port 1434 for incoming "resolution service" requests. Sending a particular malformed request with first byte 0x08 will overflow a heap-based buffer and cause a denial-of-service on the server. This attack does not require valid credentials.

With Rapid7 live dashboards, I have a clear view of all the assets on my network, which ones can be exploited, and what I need to do in order to reduce the risk in my environment in real-time. No other tool gives us that kind of value and insight.
