Description

The affected asset is vulnerable to this vulnerability ONLY if a local attacker can run scripts on the HTTP server. Review your web server configuration for validation. The Apache HTTP server did not verify that a process was an Apache child process before sending it signals. A local attacker with the ability to run scripts on the HTTP server could manipulate the scoreboard and cause arbitrary processes to be terminated which could lead to a denial of service.

Solution(s)

  • apache-httpd-upgrade-1_3_39
  • apache-httpd-upgrade-2_0_61
  • apache-httpd-upgrade-2_2_6

With Rapid7 live dashboards, I have a clear view of all the assets on my network, which ones can be exploited, and what I need to do in order to reduce the risk in my environment in real-time. No other tool gives us that kind of value and insight.
