Description

When installed using an RPM, versions of Webmin prior to v0.93 do not correctly set the permissions of the /var/webmin directory. As a result, a local attacker can retrieve an administrator's session cookie and elevate his or her privileges to root.

Solution(s)

  • webmin-upgrade-0_93
  • webmin-upgrade-latest

With Rapid7 live dashboards, I have a clear view of all the assets on my network, which ones can be exploited, and what I need to do in order to reduce the risk in my environment in real-time. No other tool gives us that kind of value and insight.
