Description

Updated Kerberos 5 packages are now available for Red Hat Linux 6.2, 7, and 7.1. These updates close a potential vulnerability present in the gssapi-aware ftpd included in the krb5-workstation package.

By use of a carefully-crafted authentication request, a malicious client could exploit a vulnerability made possible by a missing bounds check. A malicious client could also overflow the buffer space used by the server for performing globbing operations.

Solution(s)

  • redhat-upgrade-krb5-configs
  • redhat-upgrade-krb5-devel
  • redhat-upgrade-krb5-libs
  • redhat-upgrade-krb5-server
  • redhat-upgrade-krb5-workstation

With Rapid7 live dashboards, I have a clear view of all the assets on my network, which ones can be exploited, and what I need to do in order to reduce the risk in my environment in real-time. No other tool gives us that kind of value and insight.
