Description

Security Fix: This update fixes a possible symlink attack in lessopen.sh. The attack can be executed by local users to overwrite arbitrary files with the privileges of the user running less. Additionally two not security related bugs were fixed:

  • UTF-8 handling
  • cleaning up /tmp

Solution(s)

With Rapid7 live dashboards, I have a clear view of all the assets on my network, which ones can be exploited, and what I need to do in order to reduce the risk in my environment in real-time. No other tool gives us that kind of value and insight.
