Description

Versions of MySQL server 5.1 before 5.1.37 suffer from a flaw in the strxnmov() function. strxnmov inconsistently terminates strings between versions (e.g., 5.0 and 5.1), which causes other functions which rely on strxnmov() to expect different behavior. As a result, multiple buffer overruns are possible, potentially leading to the execution of arbitrary code.

Solution(s)

  • mysql-upgrade-5_1_37

With Rapid7 live dashboards, I have a clear view of all the assets on my network, which ones can be exploited, and what I need to do in order to reduce the risk in my environment in real-time. No other tool gives us that kind of value and insight.
