Description

Certain versions of MySQL create temporary files in an insecure manner. As a result, a local attacker could use a symlink to overwrite any file on the system that the MySQL process has write access to.

Solution(s)

  • mysql-upgrade-4_0_21
  • mysql-upgrade-latest

With Rapid7 live dashboards, I have a clear view of all the assets on my network, which ones can be exploited, and what I need to do in order to reduce the risk in my environment in real-time. No other tool gives us that kind of value and insight.
