Description

In certain versions of Exim, there exists a locally-exploitable format string vulnerability in the daemon_go() function which yields root privileges. Note, however, that the impact of this vulnerability is greatly reduced by the fact that the daemon_go() function can only be called by the 'exim-admin-user', which is set at compile time.

Solution(s)

  • exim-upgrade-4_12

With Rapid7 live dashboards, I have a clear view of all the assets on my network, which ones can be exploited, and what I need to do in order to reduce the risk in my environment in real-time. No other tool gives us that kind of value and insight.
