Description

An information disclosure flaw was found in Buildah, when building containers using chroot isolation. Running processes in container builds (e.g. Dockerfile RUN commands) can access environment variables from parent and grandparent processes. When run in a container in a CI/CD environment, environment variables may include sensitive information that was shared with the container in order to be used only by Buildah itself (e.g. container registry credentials).

Solution(s)

  • suse-upgrade-conmon
  • suse-upgrade-libcontainers-common
  • suse-upgrade-libseccomp-devel
  • suse-upgrade-libseccomp-tools
  • suse-upgrade-libseccomp2
  • suse-upgrade-libseccomp2-32bit
  • suse-upgrade-podman
  • suse-upgrade-podman-cni-config

With Rapid7 live dashboards, I have a clear view of all the assets on my network, which ones can be exploited, and what I need to do in order to reduce the risk in my environment in real-time. No other tool gives us that kind of value and insight.
