Description

Certain versions of Mozilla Firefox do not sufficiently restrict search plugins from injecting Javascript into the current page's context. This would allow a malicious search plugin to steal cookies and/or submit data on the user's behalf. Furthermore, if the current page is a privileged context (such as 'about:config' or 'about:plugins'), then the plugin can execute arbitrary code.

Solution(s)

  • mozilla-firefox-upgrade-1_0_3
  • mozilla-firefox-upgrade-latest

With Rapid7 live dashboards, I have a clear view of all the assets on my network, which ones can be exploited, and what I need to do in order to reduce the risk in my environment in real-time. No other tool gives us that kind of value and insight.
