The notion is simple.

We can have a great product, strong financials, and a stellar sales engine...but if our team isn't subscribed to the overall mission, our outlook is dismal.
This is not rocket science. There is a roadmap; you just need to commit to understanding and embracing it.

Rapid7 was founded by three entrepreneurs who wanted to create simple, innovative solutions for their customers. Customer partnerships were at the heart of every decision that they made while growing this company, and today customer partnerships create the foundation for our core values.

The name Rapid7 comes from the rapid transit system that our founders rode on in the early days of forming this company. The name embodies our commitment to rapidly responding to our customer's needs and the emerging threats they face. It also represents the way that we work, with vigilant speed and energy.

Rapid7's Moose Manifesto is our way of explaining our mission, purpose, and what makes us unique. These are the qualities that we hire on, as well as the core values that we reward and promote on.

Our core values are the belief system that sustain us. They should not be viewed as a set of rules, but rather a guide to how we work and grow as a team.

At Rapid7, we believe if we hire a team of people who share a common belief system and a number of key attributes, we can capitalize on that alignment and use our differences to make us thrive. Our common beliefs lead us to work as "One Moose."

None of us is entitled. We add impact to earn opportunities and rewards. We each do our part to contribute in the building of a phenomenal company.

At Rapid7, we refer to ourselves
as "Moose." Since the plural of moose is moose, we consider ourselves "One Moose."
When we say "Great job, Moose!"
we are referring to the
individual as well as the team behind them.

All different, with individual tastes, viewpoints, and preferences, but connected by our quest to be part of something bigger, something challenging, something special that we can leave our own indelible mark on.

Now you understand and have a framework for thinking about what makes us, US. Why is this so important? What's in it for you?

We know that this is your livelihood, and you don't work this hard to make impact for charity. So we take care of you the best way we can. We offer competitive compensation in the form of cash, bonuses, equity, and additional rewards.

Our rewards, from financial to our other forms of recognition (Moose Awards, guitar picks, new career opportunities, etc.) are all created to support not just your strong work, but your embodiment of what we value most. In essence, you won't get a raise just because you think you work really hard, nor will you get promoted because you've played a role for a certain period of time. Promotions, rewards, and opportunities will come when opportunity and capability intersect.
