What we do is accelerate the speed at which other companies can deploy AI into their business systems. AWS is kind of the industry leader, but in addition to being the leader, they have all the services that we need to fall in on, so that creates less work for us to have to develop. Every time we have to stop and build something it takes us away from our core mission of artificial intelligence, and now we're working deploying Kubernetes instead of focusing on just building what we want on top of Kubernetes.

AWS already has a base layer built of compliance and security. So they have HIPAA compliance, PCI, SOC attestation done, so I can come in and start building on top of AWS and deploying everything from a secure perspective without having to stop and get deep into the weeds at the bottom of the stack.

Vulnerability management is the biggest part of information security. We needed a product that would help us solve these issues and that's where Rapid7's InsightVM came in. We looked at other products in the market, but InsightVM had this complete package where I could understand my risk, it would present it to me in a way that was human readable, and even presented the steps I needed to take action.

The center for internet security (CIS) creates guidelines for how to harden systems or harden AWS. InsightVM lets us implement or at least audit against those checks and that's very important because patching the system only fixes a little bit on the problem. By utilizing those asset discovery technologies, it gives me peace of mind that we are seeing everything we need to see, that we're not missing anything.
