Senior Software Engineer (VM Sustainability)

Job Description

Join the SecOps software revolution at Rapid7, building amazing products with the latest technologies. We are looking for a creative and highly-motivated problem solver, someone who enjoys mentoring their team mates based on their own experience to join a new team of contributors for InsightVM in Belfast. IVM is a cloud and on-premise hybrid application that scans for and manages vulnerabilities found in our customer's environments. We are looking for a passionate problem solver with full stack development experience that enjoys mentoring their teammates based on their own experience. Experience with back-end &  front-end development, agile processes and the security industry are strong plusses.

What you'll do

You will collaborate with product managers, UX teams and fellow engineers to help enhance and add to InsightVMs capabilities. You will have the opportunity to work on both backend and frontend technologies using mostly Java and Javascript with plenty of other tech along the way. 

Build tooling & solutions that allow the team to better understand the needs of our customer. Our goal is to solve problems for our customers in record times, sometimes even before customers notice there is a problem at all.

Desired Experience

  • 4+ years of software development

  • Object-Oriented design & programming, preferably Java / Spring

  • JavaScript programming, preferably React / Angular

  • Relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL

  • Have been in a previous role providing mentorship and oversight to other engineers

  • Web application development

  • Git

  • Build tools such as maven or gradle

  • CI/CD tools such as Jenkins

  • Test Driven Development
