Senior Software Engineer UI (IVM)

Job Description:

As a Senior UI Engineer: You are passionate about making an impact and building the next big thing in security. You are self-organised. You are highly motivated to think big picture and collaborate with other teams to build a good experience. You are a problem solver, driven to stay up on the latest front-end technologies. You have a strong understanding of Javascript, and if you don't already work on React, you are excited to learn it.

Job Requirements: 

Strong JavaScript background

Strong experience with framework/library experience (e.g. React, Vue, AngularJS)

Experience writing tests

Problem-solving with little supervision

Strong communication skills

Dedication and an eagerness to learn and improve

Desire to mentor engineers through technical support and career development

BS/MS in Computer Science (or equivalent experience)

What you'll do:

You will collaborate with product managers, UX teams and fellow engineers to help enhance and add to InsightVM's capabilities. You will have the opportunity to work on both backend and frontend technologies using mostly Java and Javascript with plenty of other tech along the way.

Desired Experience:

  • 4+ years of software development

  • JavaScript programming, preferably React / Angular

  • Knowledge of CSS frameworks such as Sass or Less

  • Test Driven Development

  • Have been in a previous role providing mentorship and oversight to other engineers

  • Web application development

  • Experience integrating projects with continuous integration tools (like Jenkins)

  • Experience building software with relational databases (such as Postgres).

  • Demonstrated ability to thoughtfully evaluate & choose technologies in designing features and communicate the pros/cons to your peers.

  • Good organisational skills on a project (ability to accurately break down and scope work from user stories in JIRA).

  • Build tools such as maven or gradle
