We're looking for a Javascript Engineer that is passionate about making an impact and helping build the next big thing in security, InsightAppSec.

In this position, you'll be joining our newly formed JavaScript team working on the InsightAppSec scan engine. Primarily working on improving our scan capabilities for customer websites using nodeJS and headless browsers.

In order to scan customer sites, we need to be able to automatically authenticate, analyse and crawl their websites - for you as a developer, this means working with the latest frameworks and technologies and developing innovative solutions to allow us to work with customer websites.

It is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team that is helping redefine how to scan customer applications.


Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Product and Design leads to develop and iteratively improve crawling and authentication capabilities.

  • Help define, design, implement, and test highly interactive components and features.

  • Participate in code reviews.

  • Help lead research and development efforts to ensure continual innovation.


Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of experience as a software developer.

  • A deep understanding of the features and best practices of Javascript/Typescript, CSS and preprocessors, HTML, and one or more modern frontend frameworks.

  • Working knowledge of CSS layout techniques.

  • Experience working with backend engineers to integrate with the web server API.

  • Experience testing UI code.

  • Experience building responsive applications.

  • Basic knowledge of client-side optimization.

  • Basic understanding of public/private cloud computing technologies such as Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, Azure, OpenStack and VMware.

  • Basic understanding of Docker / Container-based technologies.

  • Ability to self-direct, highly motivated, collaborative, high-energy and diligent work ethic.

  • A love for beautiful user interfaces that are highly functional.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with nodeJS.

  • Experience of Puppeteer or Playwright.

  • Experience writing browser extensions.

  • An interest in application security and web technologies.

  • Mentor junior developers and peers.

  • An eye for detail.
