Job Overview:

We are looking for a cyber-savvy senior sales engineer to assist with the selling of security operations cyber products and services. The Sales Engineer's responsibilities include maintaining extensive knowledge of the products functions, components and processes, and assisting to close sales where technical expertise may be required to fit the clients' needs.

As a senior, you will be participating in developing strategies for customer segments, contributing to and refining collateral, and working with the extended sales team to further enhance market presence through contribution in a range of go to market activities.

To be successful as a senior sales engineer, you will possess an in-depth knowledge of our company's technical products and services and you should be able to relate this knowledge in a way that is understandable to both technical and non-technical customers. You should be driven to achieve your sales goals, have a strong partnering mentality, and should have excellent understanding of the sales cycle, while exhibiting high quality customer service skills.

Working in partnership with our direct and channel sales teams to help our clients and prospects understand the benefits of Rapid7's Insight Platform and Services Portfolio. You will collaborate with accountant managers and services teams to develop and position our technology and services in a pre-sales role. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-person and remote product demonstrations to present the technical value proposition, aligned to the identified requirements

  • Possess presentation-ready knowledge and product expertise on all Rapid7's solutions, with specialized knowledge in the security solutions

  • Engage with clients and prospects as the technical lead throughout the pre-sales evaluation cycle to ensure our portfolio delivers and perhaps exceeds the defined requirements

  • Engage with Partners in the region to provide technical knowledge and support for partner-led opportunities

  • Drive high levels of client satisfaction

  • Provide feedback on Client Feature Requests and enhancements  to improve the product relevance and maintain competitiveness

  • Work with marketing and sales on content development and delivery e.g. Webinars, blogs, vertical campaigns, seminars and trade shows

  • Stay knowledgeable cyber security research by continuing to read and study new data/reports/trends

Job Requirements:

  • Security Architecture, Security Consulting / Engineering or Cyber Security operation

  • Excellent verbal, presentation and written communication skills.

  • Knowledge of Cyber Security frameworks and multiple technical controls

  • Ability to relate to a wide audience, and articulate requirements to varying persona's e.g. Security Engineer/Analyst Vs. CIO.

  • Present effectively in front of small and large groups, technically and non-technically oriented, clearly exploring business problems, discussing these problems, and presenting and preparing solutions.

  • Explore customer requirements, and provide industry knowledge and thought leadership to refine customer needs, and to determine requirements

  • Prepare and deliver high quality and relevant technical presentations/demonstrations explaining products or services to existing and prospective customers

  • Execute proof of value exercises, where required

  • Identify technical requirements and success criteria, design proposed solution and secure technical win using your excellent technical and problem-solving skills.

  • The ability to negotiate with and influence others in complex environments

  • Prior experience in selling solutions to ASX 300 or large enterprises

  • Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, startup style environment

  • Ability to work independently, ability to adapt quickly, positive attitude.

  • Willingness to continue your sales and engineering education.
