We are looking for a highly motivated business intelligence analyst to drive insight for key business stakeholders, across our internal functional areas. This role will be accountable for providing accurate, timely and high-impact data and analysis to executives, operating groups and management teams with a focus on product usage metrics.  Working in tandem with our operations teams, you'll provide analytics, data, and reporting support to help enhance business decision making and increase operational efficiency.

As part of Rapid7's Analytic Center of Excellence, this role will collaborate with teams across the company on various analytic and data projects and provide insight and recommendations on best practices for analysis. You're an inquisitive learner with a passion for data and analytics, who can effectively collaborate with stakeholders across functional areas to review and optimize current reporting, analytics, and data structure/data capture. In this role you will:

  • Provide analytical support, data and product usage analysis to our business stakeholders, identifying and maintaining key performance indicators, analyzing historic metrics and providing insight with a core focus on product usage metrics including utilization of specific features, milestones, licenses, customers, etc... 

  • Develop in-depth understanding of underlying customer foundational data, product usage data, bookings data, data structures, and business uses of data to provide clear data visualizations and analysis.

  • Drives consistency in reporting and analysis across the company, reinforcing process, increasing visibility

  • Lead projects aligned to driving customer health, quarterly and annual planning, and operational performance at Rapid7

  • Assists with ongoing systems and process improvement initiatives to assure efficient data capture and reporting capability

  • Advance BI team & corporate goals by promoting a data-oriented culture, insight generation and enablement of end-users

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide continual improvement in analysis, business process and data quality

  • Work with other BI Analysts & Management to coordinate communication on timelines, analyses and, enablement

  • Manage expectations with internal customers

  • Ad-hoc analysis as required to aid BI team decision making, customer health analysis, and business planning

In return you will bring:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in customer analytics, with prior experience at a high tech, software, or mgmt. consulting company preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Business, Economics, or related discipline

  • Strong SQL proficiency

  • Proven ability to create reporting and analytics within BI Tools such as Tableau, Qlik, or Power BI

  • Strong communication and storytelling skills, utilizing data to tell a story

  • Working knowledge of Netsuite,, or similar CRM/ERP system

  • Proficient with MS PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Word, and Outlook

  • Strong attention to detail with a passion for data, data quality & business analytics

  • Fast learner with an appetite for continued improvement

  • Team spirit, excellent interpersonal skills, and a customer service orientation

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Nice to have, but not required:

  • Interest in R, Python, and/or SAS a plus
