An elevation of privilege vulnerability exists when the Windows Transaction Manager improperly handles objects in memory. An attacker who successfully exploited this vulnerability could run processes in an elevated context. In a local attack scenario, an attacker could exploit this vulnerability by running a specially crafted application to take control over the affected system. The security update addresses the vulnerability by correcting how the Transaction Manager handles objects in memory.
With Rapid7 live dashboards, I have a clear view of all the assets on my network, which ones can be exploited, and what I need to do in order to reduce the risk in my environment in real-time. No other tool gives us that kind of value and insight.
