Description

Evidence of infection with the Melissa macro virus has been found on the system. This virus spreads by infecting Microsoft Office 97 and Microsoft Office 2000 documents and templates with embedded VBScript macros, and then emailing them automatically.

The virus can cause denial of service by overloading mail servers. An additional risk is that the virus can mail random documents from the infected machine, possibly resulting in loss of privacy.
