Description

Kerberos is a network authentication system which allows clients andservers to authenticate to each other using symmetric encryption and atrusted third party, the Key Distribution Center (KDC).An input validation flaw was found in the ASN.1 (Abstract Syntax NotationOne) decoder used by MIT Kerberos. A remote attacker could use this flaw tocrash a network service using the MIT Kerberos library, such as kadmind orkrb5kdc, by causing it to dereference or free an uninitialized pointer.(CVE-2009-0846)All krb5 users should upgrade to these updated packages, which contain abackported patch to correct this issue. All running services using the MITKerberos libraries must be restarted for the update to take effect.

With Rapid7 live dashboards, I have a clear view of all the assets on my network, which ones can be exploited, and what I need to do in order to reduce the risk in my environment in real-time. No other tool gives us that kind of value and insight.
