Description

The affected asset is vulnerable to this vulnerability ONLY if a local user can be forced to parse a crafted .htaccess file. Review your web server configuration for validation. A buffer overflow was found in the expansion of environment variables during configuration file parsing. This issue could allow a local user to gain the privileges of a httpd child if a server can be forced to parse a carefully crafted .htaccess file written by a local user.

Solution(s)

  • apache-httpd-upgrade-2_0_51

With Rapid7 live dashboards, I have a clear view of all the assets on my network, which ones can be exploited, and what I need to do in order to reduce the risk in my environment in real-time. No other tool gives us that kind of value and insight.
