Description

Tomcat previous to v4.0.4 and v4.1.10 will disclose a JSP file's source code if a request to it is prepended with '/servlet/org.apache.catalina.servlets.DefaultServlet'.

For instance, the source for 'http://www.mywebsite.com/index.jsp' can be accessed using 'http://www.mywebsite.com/servlet/org.apache.catalina.servlets.DefaultServlet/index.jsp'.

Solution(s)

  • tomcat-4x-upgrade-4_0_5
  • tomcat-4x-upgrade-4_1_12

With Rapid7 live dashboards, I have a clear view of all the assets on my network, which ones can be exploited, and what I need to do in order to reduce the risk in my environment in real-time. No other tool gives us that kind of value and insight.
