Description

The affected asset is vulnerable to this vulnerability ONLY if it is running one of the following modules: mod_digest AND an attacker can sniff network traffic between a client and server using Digest protection. Review your web server configuration for validation. mod_digest does not properly verify the nonce of a client response by using a AuthNonce secret. This could allow a malicious user who is able to sniff network traffic to conduct a replay attack against a website using Digest protection. Note that mod_digest implements an older version of the MD5 Digest Authentication specification which is known not to work with modern browsers. This issue does not affect mod_auth_digest.

Solution(s)

  • apache-httpd-upgrade-1_3_31

With Rapid7 live dashboards, I have a clear view of all the assets on my network, which ones can be exploited, and what I need to do in order to reduce the risk in my environment in real-time. No other tool gives us that kind of value and insight.
