Description

Tomcat allows path delimiters like '\', '%2F' and '%5C' in the URI. If a vulnerable version of Tomcat is configured through a proxy like Apache HTTP server with mod_proxy and mod_jk, a malformed HTTP request containing strings like "/\../" may allow attackers to work around the context limitations.

Solution(s)

  • tomcat-6x-upgrade-6_0_10
  • tomcat-5x-upgrade-5_5_22
  • tomcat-5x-upgrade-5_0_31
  • tomcat-4x-upgrade-4_1_35
  • tomcat-4x-upgrade-4_0_7

With Rapid7 live dashboards, I have a clear view of all the assets on my network, which ones can be exploited, and what I need to do in order to reduce the risk in my environment in real-time. No other tool gives us that kind of value and insight.
