Rapid7 Adds Seasoned Technology Executives to Leadership Team and Board

Steven Gatoff and Jay Leader Join Rapid7's Executive Leadership, Michael Berry Joins Board of Directors

Boston, MA — December 12, 2012

Rapid7, a leading provider of IT security risk management software and cloud-based services, today announced three key appointments to the company's leadership team: Steven Gatoff will take the role of chief financial officer (CFO); and Jay Leader has joined the company as chief information officer (CIO). Additionally, Michael Berry joins the Board of Directors as chairman of the Audit Committee. The new appointments will help drive continued growth and leadership at the company, which has grown more than 900% over the last four years.

Rapid7's new leadership and board appointments are:

Steven Gatoff, CFO

Steven brings more than 20 years of leadership experience and an accomplished track record of success in building organizations, driving change and increasing value for technology companies. Steven joins Rapid7 from iPass Inc. (NASDAQ: IPAS) where he was senior vice president and CFO and was instrumental in driving more than three times growth in stockholder value during his tenure. Prior to iPass, Steven held financial executive leadership roles at United Online (NASDAQ: UNTD), Sterling Commerce and VeriSign (NASDAQ: VRSN) and spent nearly a decade in investment banking with Morgan Stanley, Credit Suisse First Boston and Bear Stearns. Steven is a CPA and holds an MBA, with honors, from Columbia University.

Jay Leader, CIO

Since 2008, Jay was senior vice president and CIO at iRobot Corporation, the world leader in the design and manufacturing of robots and robotic solutions for the consumer and defense markets. Jay has nearly 30 years of experience leading IT organizations at high-growth companies, including as CIO at Nypro, Inc. He also served in IT management roles at Coopers & Lybrand, Groundwater Technology and Data General Corp. He has a BA in Government & International Relations from Clark University, Worcester MA where he also earned his MBA.

Michael Berry, chairman of the Audit Committee for the Board of Directors

Michael is the executive vice president and CFO at SolarWinds, Inc., a leading provider of powerful and affordable IT management products. As chairman of the Audit Committee for Rapid7, he will be charged with the oversight of financial reporting and disclosure. Michael brings more than 20 years of management and executive experience with a concentration on finance, including five years as executive vice president of finance and accounting and chief financial officer of i2 Technologies, Inc., maker of supply chain technologies.
