Description

In Docker through 18.06.1-ce-rc2, the API endpoints behind the 'docker cp' command are vulnerable to a symlink-exchange attack with Directory Traversal, giving attackers arbitrary read-write access to the host filesystem with root privileges, because daemon/archive.go does not do archive operations on a frozen filesystem (or from within a chroot).

Solution(s)

  • centos-upgrade-docker
  • centos-upgrade-docker-client
  • centos-upgrade-docker-common
  • centos-upgrade-docker-debuginfo
  • centos-upgrade-docker-logrotate
  • centos-upgrade-docker-lvm-plugin
  • centos-upgrade-docker-novolume-plugin
  • centos-upgrade-docker-rhel-push-plugin
  • centos-upgrade-docker-v1-10-migrator

With Rapid7 live dashboards, I have a clear view of all the assets on my network, which ones can be exploited, and what I need to do in order to reduce the risk in my environment in real-time. No other tool gives us that kind of value and insight.
